Griffey, Canseco, and Mariano Rivera Rookies

The title of this post is misleading. Purposely misleading. Why, you ask? It seems pretty straightforward, right? You're thinking, he's going to talk about some awesome rookie cards of three of the great players from the 90s and 00s.

Well... not exactly.

Because, you see, this post is really about a strange mini-collection. Instead of explaining the nature of that mini-collection, let me first show you the cards referenced in the title of this post.

I call this mini-collection the "Lesser Knowns." There are various categories of lesser knowns that I have developed within this mini-collection. The Craig Griffey, Ozzie Canseco, and Mariano Rivera cards fit into a category of lesser knowns within the same baseball family. 

The other categories:

• Lesser knowns with the same name as a considerably more famous non-baseball athlete.

I'm sure you can think of examples of some additional players who would fit into each of the lesser known categories. Feel free to leave yours in the comments below. Picture Day

Picture day at school was the worst. So many questions. What to wear? How bright will the lights be? Is it going to be right after gym class so I'll be extra sweaty? And then the whole thing about me not being photogenic...

There seems to be only two common refrains when it comes to being photogenic. You hear one of the following:

1) She's so photogenic!

2) I'm not photogenic at all!

Does anyone ever say someone is somewhat photogenic? If they have, I haven't heard it. But in reality, most people fall into this middle range. 

Everyone takes a bad picture once in a while. Most of us don't end up having said picture plastered on a piece of cardboard that is mass distributed, however. These guys can't say the same. And so I present to you, a gallery of unintentionally awkward pictures of baseball players (non-game action edition).
